The track & field team posted 15 season bests in the meet at Bellarmine Wednesday. Most impressive were the two boys 400m relay teams and one girl's team, both equaled their season's best in the driving rain. The discus throwers threw very well in not-so-good discus conditions. Tiffany Shou threw a lifetime best in the discus, only 4" off of the school record. All 7 Harker hurdlers ran seasonal bests as well: Kismet Singh, Lilly Anderson, Zoey Rosa, Hannah Bohbot-Dridi and Angela Cai for the girls, and in his first hurdle race ever, Gio Rofa won the boy's 65m high hurdles. In the closest Eagle race of the day, Mitch Granados edged Angel Contreras in the 100m by .006 seconds.
Upper School Athletics Schedule
Anna Weirich opened the meet at 8:00a, and 44 degrees, with a win in the 3000m run (10:50=a 11:30 2 mile); she came back 3 hours later and won the mile run (5:28). Tony Contreras and Gio Rofa ran well in their sections of the 400m and 100m. The boys 400m relay team again equaled their season best., they're waiting now for a big breakthrough. Tiffany Shou placed 4th in the girls' discus while Eric Fang threw a personal best in the frosh-soph discus.
The Eagles track team continues to improve, even in another long, cold and rainy meet on Saturday. The boys 400m relay team of Marcus Tymus, Angel Cervantes, Mitch Granados and Anthony Contreras placed 2nd. The girls sprint medley relay team won with a new school record time of 1:59.99. The team was made up of Grace Koonmen, Nikki Solanki, Gloria Guo and Anna Weirich. All 4 were running in their 3rd race in the 11 hour track meet. Kismet Singh placed 3rd against 30 other runners in the 100m hurdles. Contreras ran a personal best 11.57 to place 4th in the top 100m heat. Fifteen runners posted their best times of the year.

Several top Eagle runners competed in a league meet at Palo Alto HS during the vacation. Kismet Singh ran a personal best of 17.61 in the 100m hurdles, just off of the school record. Anthony Contreras and Angel Cervantes placed 2nd and 3rd in the 100m; Gio Rofa ran his best ever in the 65m hurdles, ranking him #3 in the league.
The Harker team ran, jumped and threw very well at The Kings Academy yesterday. Despite a strong head wind all day, the boys and girls sprinters and hurdlers continued to improve. The boys 400m relay team posted a season best of 44.25, ranking them #2 in the league, running the #3 mark in school history. Overall, the Eagles posted 25 personal bests during the day. Kismet Singh led the fine girl's hurdle crew, despite running into a strong wind, running a near school record race. Ayush Vyas threw a 10 foot personal best in the discus, a 99'11" toss. Tiffany Shou threw a personal best in the shot put, she is now within 1 foot of the school record in the shot and 3" away from the discus school record. Marcus Tymous set a junior school record in the long jump, leaping 18'6.5"
Anna Weirich had a PR in the 3200m run with a time of 11:24.66 good for 9th place out of 20.
The Eagles established 22 personal bests in their final meet before the league championships in 10 days. The girl hurdlers and the boy 1600m runners led the charge, 6 boys and 5 girls ran their Harker bests. Both the boys' and girls' 400m sprint relay teams ran seasonal bests and will challenge for top 3 spots in the league meet. Tiffany Shou set as new school record in the discus, besting the old mark by 2 feet, throwing 97'2". Anthony Contreras ran near lifetime bests, despite running into a 10mph wind in the 100m and 200m runs. The Eagles ran 5 runners in the fast heat in the 100m. Anna Weirich continued her stellar frosh year with pr's in the 400m and 800m races.
Track & Field recorded 36 personal bests and 4 new school records in the WBAL track & field prelims Saturday. Kismet Singh took down school records in the 100m hurdles and the 300m hurdles. Grace Koonmen broke her own record in the long jump. Tiffany Shou hit the 100 foot mark, besting her own school discus record by 5 feet. Eleven boys and nine girls advanced to the league championship meet next Friday at Palo Alto High, 5:00.Giovanni Rofa won the JV boys long jump, hitting 18'6". Giovanni and Anton Novikov qualified with the top two times in the JV 100m, Anton ran the fastest 200m in the JV trials. Eric Fang placed second in the JV shot put and discus throws. Aditya Singhvi placed 5th in the JV 1600m run.
Congrats to Ayush Vyas for his league championship in the discus! He will be the only Eagle at next Saturday's CCS championships. Outstanding league meet by all. We had 44 personal bests in individual and relay events.
