Middle School After-School Program
Our Before- and After-School Enrichment (BASE) staff are highly trained “social teachers” who guide our robust after-school program. The BASE staff seamlessly transitions the students from the academics inside the classroom to the extracurricular enrichment opportunities, making the after-school scene at Harker into a fabulous neighborhood of activity.
The BASE staff’s mission is to provide a safe and enriching environment for each student, every day. Your student will have something to do each day after school, whether that’s curling up in the library for a good read, catching up on some studying, learning a new game or dance move, or grabbing a game of pickup basketball.
Learning Workshops
Learning workshops do require registration and attendance for the quarter, but they have no additional fee. The workshops change each year, so your child will continue to experiment with new subjects.
Previous learning workshops:
- web design
- food art
- newspaper editing
- robotics
- juggling
Performing Arts
Performing arts classes happen both during the academic day and after school. After-school options include casual and performance dance groups, jazz and orchestral music groups, private instrumental lessons and technical theater opportunities.
