Biography

In the spring of 2013, Jon Cvitanich started at Harker as a middle school baseball coach and has stayed on to coach flag football, boys and girls basketball at the lower and middle school levels. In 2021 he joined the upper school's varsity baseball team as an assistant coach, seeing them on to win the PAL Lake Division and Division 6 CCS championships. He became the team's head coach in 2025.

Mr. Cvitanich was born and raised in San Jose, where he grew up playing baseball, football and basketball. He attended Bellarmine College Preparatory and through the community service program, started coaching in Almaden Little League when he was 14. After seven years of coaching in Almaden Little League, Mr. Cvitanich and other coaches founded the Unleashed Baseball Team, a 13-and-under team that traveled all over Northern California competing in tournaments. During this time, Mr. Cvitanich started working with multiple players one-on-one to improve baseball skills. Through the two-and-a-half years of its existence, UBT won multiple tournaments and competed with top-tier teams in the area.

Mr. Cvitanich is the general manager of San Francisco Giants' baseball and softball camps, after having started as a coach in 2015 and then becoming a site director.

He loves the San Francisco Giants, San Jose Sharks and Golden State Warriors.
