Applying to Harker
We appreciate your interest in The Harker School, and we look forward to sharing more about our warm, inspiring and vibrant community with you and your family.
We invite you to submit an inquiry as the first step of the admission process. Harker‘s application uses Ravenna Solutions, and through your Ravenna account, you will be able to receive notifications from Harker, register for Harker admission events, and apply and track your progress toward application completion.
We hope the information here and the detailed application steps in the Harker Ravenna application answers all your questions about the application process. Our goal is to make things as easy as possible. If you have any questions at any time after reviewing this information and the detailed steps in your Ravenna Harker application, please contact us!
Our standard points of entry are kindergarten and grades 3, 4, 6 and 9. New students may enter Harker at all grade levels except grade 12. In grades 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 the number of openings depends on attrition and there are usually more qualified applicants than spaces.

Application Process
Here is some information to give you an idea of the application process.
Transitional Kindergarten Program
Transitional kindergarten (TK) is designed for our younger kindergarten-age children. Our TK program is located on our Boynton campus, with indoor and outdoor spaces dedicated to the children’s learning needs. Our 24 TK children will have an opportunity for an additional year of academic/social growth before transitioning into kindergarten the following year.
Families with children who are age-eligible for TK and Kindergarten must choose to apply for either TK or kindergarten, there is not an option to apply for both grades.
TK and kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by Nov. 30, 2025
Birthdate Ranges
- July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020 must apply for Kindergarten only
- July 1, 2020-Nov. 30, 2020 can apply for TK or Kindergarten. There is not an option to apply for both.
International Students
International students applying to The Harker School must meet the same admission standards as domestic students, and successfully complete all stages of the highly selective admission process. We do not have a separate pool for international applicants. Harker has a very rigorous academic program, and all students must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking English. Unless students have been attending schools where the courses are taught in English, it is unlikely that they would qualify.
While Harker does not offer ESL curriculum during the regular school year, we do offer a robust English Language Institute in the summer. For more information, visit our ELI website or contact ELI@harker.org.
Late Applications
We expect that the majority of places for fall will be filled by candidates who make the January deadlines and regular acceptance announcement in March. Please contact us if you have any questions.
