Harker Day is an annual event and a great way to celebrate the changing of the seasons and usher in the new school year.
Harker Day
Harker Day is actually two of our beloved long-running annual events – the Harker Family & Alumni Picnic and homecoming – morphed into one, incredible, stupendous Saturday every October. With games, activities and entertainment for all ages, we continue the tradition of the Harker Family & Alumni Picnic – now in its seventh decade – with a day that celebrates everything that is Harker. It’s held on the upper school campus, and admission is free and over 3,000 students, parents, relatives, friends, alumni, teachers and staff attend – it’s the event of the year! HARKER HALL OF FAME
Launched in 2018 the Harker Hall of Fame honors the dedication and sacrifice of Harker's athletes, teams, coaches and sports supporters. Each year, inductees are selected based on their exemplifying desirable character traits at Harker and beyond, and having distinguished themselves in competition representing Harker, their colleges or at the professional level.
The annual ceremony is held at Homecoming/Harker Day each year and inductees receive an award for display and their names enshrined on the Hall of Fame wall in the athletic center on the upper school campus.
Performing Arts Shows
Hundreds of singers, dancers and actors from TK-12 (along with some very special guests!) present an epic performance each year that pays tribute to our school. While admission is free to Harker Day, advance reservations are required to attend these legendary student shows, and parents are emailed separately with that information.
Our Harker Day show this year is getting kooky and spooky! Set at “Harkermore Academy,” this performance follows members of the Addams Family and a host of classic horror movie monsters as they prepare the school for Harkerween. Students and staff from TK though high school will sing, dance and act together onstage in this beloved annual tribute to our school.
Athletic Events
Harker Day also celebrates our upper school athletes with competitions throughout the day, including water polo and volleyball, and culminates with our homecoming football game in the evening. Homecoming festivities include appearances by this year’s Harker Hall of Fame awardees, the Eaglets, our all-school choir, the lower school and upper school cheer teams, our upper school spirit tug-of-war and crowning of our homecoming court.
