Jonah Alves has been at Harker since 2011. In 2017 she became a full-time upper school counselor. In 2013 she filled in as a counselor, and from 2011-15 she was the upper school JV girls basketball coach, and assistant coach for the girls varsity basketball team. She was a school counselor for the Santa Clara Unified School District in 2013-14 and a mental health clinician at The Bill Wilson Center in San Jose from 2014-16. She also was a mental health FIT therapist at the Stanford Youth Solutions in Sacramento in 2016, and in 2016-17 worked for Dignity Health Medical Foundation as a behavioral health clinician, also in Sacramento.
Ms. Alves was born in the Philippines and raised in Hayward. She enjoys playing and watching basketball and is a proud mother and wife who loves spending time with her family
