Born and raised in Arizona, Judy Atterholt joined Harker’s lower school campus in 2015 as a librarian, working in information literacy for grades 1, 3 and 4.
Ms. Atterholt is the former adult literacy coordinator of the Mountain View Public Library and former library specialist for the Castro Elementary School in Mountain View. She completed a graduate fellowship at Stanford University and held a Fulbright-Hayes Fellowship in Germany.
Married with a son, daughter and “two cats who sometimes get along,” she shared that she is an enthusiastic cook and baker who enjoys hiking and bicycling. “As a librarian, my philosophy is to help kids fall in love with reading, whether that's by reading ‘Captain Underpants’ or ‘Anne of Green Gables.’ My favorite moments as a librarian are seeing children's eyes light up when I put a longed-for book into their hands!” she adds.
