Upper School Athletics Schedule
On a brisk and windy day, the Harker boys golf team kicked off the season by making history, winning the program's first ever tournament at the Lone Tree Golf Course in Antioch. Lead by "just a junior' Victor Shin and freshman sensation Jaimin Bhagat, the linksters shot a 386 to take first place at the Gambetta Tournament. Shin was medalist (1st place) with a one over par 73, edging out teammate Bhagat with the same score, beating him with a scorecard playoff. Senior and UCSD bound Ryan Vaughan came in tied for third place individually with a 76. Contributing to this victory were junior Jin Kim's 81 and senior Avi Khemani's 82. Out of the eight medals available, the Eagles brought home four. Congratulations to the team for an outstanding start. Hard work during the off season is paying off.
JV beat Menlo in its season debut lead by junior Sahil Kapur with a 44.
Junior Daulet Tuleubayev tied for 1st place as the team placed 5th overall.
Varsity boys golf defeated Valley Christian to begin its non-league dual match play 204-213, paced by senior Sandip Nirmel's even par 37. Contributions to the win came from Ryan Vaughan's 39, Daulet Tuleubayev's 40 and Sahil Kapur's 41. Ashwin Rammohan also had a nice one hour round of 39,
Shout out to Varsity for taking third (out of 18 teams) at the 28th Pahrump Invitational in Las Vegas last week. Jin Kim and Ryan Vaughan tied for 11th individually. Victor Shin 18th, Jaimin Bhagat 20th, Avi Khemani 24th out of 95 players.
The team had their best ever finish at this tournament shooting a total of 383.
