At Harker’s upper school, we provide students with a well-rounded education that includes a challenging, innovative curriculum and robust programs and extracurricular activities – preparing them for success in college and beyond.
The Harker Upper School: Tools for Success at College and Beyond
Our goal is to give our students an educational experience here like no other, where we challenge, engage, inspire and support them along their journeys. With a 100 percent acceptance rate into colleges, universities and conservatories, our students leave Harker prepared for continued success.
Harker’s upper school, located at our Saratoga Ave. campus in San Jose, serves students in grades 9 through 12.
Our experience in education combined with our integrated curriculum creates an optimal learning environment. We offer support systems including academic and college counseling to ensure your child’s continued success.
Programs & Extracurriculars
We have more than 100 enriching electives plus exciting programs and extracurricular activities like our competitive sports program and countless student clubs.
All of our teachers are highly qualified; many have advanced degrees and all pursue ongoing professional development to offer our students a world-class education at Harker.
Our students are passionate and curious and have a desire to make a difference in the world. They support each other’s interests, encourage each other to try new things and celebrate the journey along with the accomplishments. Honor, integrity and kindness are woven throughout Harker, and students (and teachers) become lifelong friends.
Support & Services
We ensure our students are able to achieve at their highest level through offering key support and services including academic counseling, health & wellness services and healthy lunch options.
Harker’s upper school is like a neighborhood; we offer a family away from home for students. Our close-knit community of students, parents, teachers and staff comes together at many school community and events.
Upper School Summer Program
Our Summer Institute for grades 9-12 has for-credit and enrichment opportunities in science, English, math and more. A variety of courses, after-class activities and a separate swim school allows Bay Area high school students to design a program perfect for their summer needs. Sessions run at various times between June 13-July 22, 2016.
