Tania Chadwick came to Harker’s upper school in 2015 as a swim coach for both the boys and girls varsity teams. She was born in Vancouver, Canada, and raised in Huntington Beach, Calif., where she first joined a swim team at the age of 6.
Throughout the years Ms. Chadwick collected many awards for her swimming prowess, including becoming the girls swimming letterman, team captain and athlete of the year at Edison High School in Huntington Beach. At Golden West College she was the South Coast Conference Swimmer of the Year as well as the first swimmer to be named Athlete of the Year. At California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo she served as the California Collegiate Athletic Association Swimmer of the Year.
Since 2002, she has coached adults and young adults in dog agility – a sport in which a handler directs a dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy.
“I have two kids at Harker, a middle schooler playing travel hockey with the Jr. Sharks and lower schooler aspiring to be a competitive swimmer. I love to compete in triathlon relays and enjoying mastering crochet,” shared Ms. Chadwick.
