Preschool Support & Services
At Harker’s preschool, our goal is your child’s success. That means caring for a child’s mind and body. We offer a nutritious lunch program, extended care and robust summer programs to ensure your child’s happiness, health and well-being here at Harker.
Our teachers’ training and experience in early education helps us to understand each child’s unique approach to learning. Our teachers use a variety of teaching techniques and learning environments to support and encourage our students’ academic, social and emotional success.
We also work with your child and your family to help ease your child’s transition away from home and into preschool. Our teachers and staff are readily available to help, answer questions or talk with you before or after school.
Beyond classroom learning, we offer a variety of rich and varied services.
We offer extended care in the mornings and afternoons for an additional fee. Our teachers and teaching assistants organize exciting activities where children read stories, explore new materials and enjoy both indoor and outdoor play.
Healthy & nourishing lunch program
Our preschool food program, available for an additional fee, features healthy, fresh and seasonal foods that support children’s healthy brain development and lifelong healthy eating habits. At lunch, learning continues - students practice important social skills like selecting foods, practicing proper eating etiquette and engaging in mealtime conversations with friends. A morning and afternoon snack is included in tuition for all students.
A librarian visits the 4-year-old classrooms and transitional kindergarten once per week to lead a story time and dive deep in literacy activities. Harker’s librarians collaborate with our preschool teachers across early learning subjects to enrich all lessons and environments with library resources.
Our preschool campus is fully enclosed, and all of our indoor and outdoor activity areas are designed specifically for young children. We look after the safety and security of our students daily.
