The Harker Libraries

Welcome!

The Harker School has a full-service library on each of our three campuses. A library director manages the K-12 department. Each library is staffed by professional librarians and their assistants.

Collaborating with teachers to integrate information literacy skills into the K-12 curriculum across all subjects is the backbone of our library program.

We also encourage leisure reading with book clubs, book talks, special displays and summer reading lists.

We create a unique grade 2 curriculum on storytelling and creative dramatics that culminates in a full-scale production called the Ogre Awards, that takes place each March.

Our students have 24/7 access to more than 90 outstanding subscription databases, including such resources as ARTstor, EBSCO, Gale, JSTOR, ProQuest, Questia and ScienceDirect.

The three libraries contain approximately 40,000 print books, as well as more than 30,000 e-books.

The Harker School Archive is organized and maintained by a part-time archivist who also reports to the library director.

Due to privacy rights and subscription database contracts, our resources remain only available to our community.

If you have any questions about our library program, please feel free to email the library director, Sue Smith, at susans@harker.org.
