Lower School Support & Services
At Harker’s lower school, we look after the academic, social and emotional well-being and safety of our students daily. Our teachers, faculty and staff are like a family away from home for our students, giving them the support and encouragement they need to succeed and feel safe.
Our experience in early education teaches us to understand each student’s approach to learning. We combine our teaching methodology with effective support systems to create an environment where your child will be motivated to learn at his or her own pace.
In addition to academic support, we offer a variety of services that provide our students with an optimal learning environment:
Delicious and Nutritious Food Program
Our cafeteria features fresh, local and seasonal foods prepared by our head chef, who understands nutritious, tasty and appealing foods support children’s healthy brain development and lifelong healthy eating habits.
Comprehensive Health & Wellness Services
We start the health and wellness conversation with our lower school students starting in kindergarten. Our faculty and staff discuss wellness subjects like the importance of getting a good night’s sleep, and managing time between schoolwork and after-school sports and activities.
While our youngest students are learning reading and writing through active play in the library, our fourth and fifth grade students are learning to research, cite and report on information found with our extensive library databases and resources.
